Good place to search for apartments in Berkeley?

Where (on the internet or otherwise) can I search for cheap studio apartments in Berkeley? Also, when do you usually need to get an apartment set up to be ready for move-in in August? How early do people usually put down a deposit? I have circumstances that mean I need to wait until late March to actually really get anything set up...do people usually do it earlier than that, or will there still be some good deals at that time?

most people use craigslist or ask around and find places through friends who live in the apt building already or have friends who are going to move out
there's a lot more sites, i just can't think of them right now lol.

most people also start apt searching in march, some don't find places until summer. it really depends on the location and price you're willing to pay.
i basically found my place through friends living in the building, so they gave me the number to call and i talked to the apt manager. if you want to move in august, but they require you to have your lease start over the summer, you can always see if they allow subletting
